The village of Cilfynydd is situated approximately 2 miles north of the town of Pontypridd. The village grew up around the Albion Colliery which was the lifeline of the village for countless years. Since then it has gone on to produce famous sons such as Sir Geraint Evans and Stuart Burrows.
